G.L Pieris tells the CID, he has no information on Bombs
Former External Affairs Minister G.L. Pieris was summoned to the CID today in connection to a statement made over a suicide kit found in a house at Chavakachcheri, Jaffna.
The former Minister arrived at the premises this morning accompanied by parliamentarians Wimal Weerawansa, C.B. Ratnayake, Dinesh Gunawardena, Pavithra Wanniarachchi as well as Namal Rajapaksa.
Addressing a recent media briefing, the former Minister has stated that the discovered explosives were planned to be brought to Wellawatta area.
He further noted that he was questioned with regard to this statement.
Addressing the media former External Affairs Minister G.L. Pieris stated that the government has set aside investigations on matters affecting the security, and acting in a manner to suppress anti-government politicians.
Expressing his views, MP Namal Rajapaksa stated that talking about the national security has posed a problem to the government.
