The lawyer of the kidney racket suspects has accepted in Court today that six out of eight Indians who were arrested have recently undergone kidney transplants in private hospitals in Sri Lanka.
The lawyer further revealed that the operations had been carried out in three private hospitals respecting legal regulations of the country.
It was also pointed out that the kidney transplant surgeries had the approval of the Director General Health.
The revelations were made when the case was heard before Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.
However, the suspects were ordered to be remanded until 18th this month.
