A three wheeler was shot at as result of the driver choosing to ignore a police order to stop. The driver attempted to speed away when asked to pull over.

The incident happened in Bombuwala Dodangoda in Kalutara early this morning.

Later police arrested two suspects including its driver who was intoxicated at that time.

Police media spokesman’s office said a packet of cannabis was also found in their possession.

The two persons have been identified as army deserters and residents of the Bombuwala neighborhood.

Meanwhile four persons have been arrested while they were packing heroin at a residence at Horagasmulla in Horana early this morning.

Police, on a tip-off, raided the house and seized 910 packets of heroin worth two million rupees.
