The Transport Ministry said that a special bus service, in view of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year will begin on Friday.
It will be operative till 25th this month.
The Ministry also said that it hoped to provide temporary permits for 3000 buses and deploy them for long distance services.
Buses running along the Southern Highway from the Maharagama, Kadavatha and Kaduwala towns as well as the Panadura town will be available.
Meanwhile Additional Railway General Manager Nalaka Bandara told our news team that 48 special New Year railway runs will be implemented from 10th to 19th of this month.
