3 Member Committee to expedite Chinese Investment Projects

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe stated that a high level 3 member committee will be appointed to expedite and standardize Chinese Investment Projects in Sri Lanka.

The Premier had expressed these views during his visit to China where he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

Minister of Special Projects Sarath Amunugama, Minister of Development Strategy and International Trade Malik Samarawickrama and Advisor to the Ministry of Policy Planning and Economic Development R Paskaralingam have been appointed as members of the Committee.

The Chinese President and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe met for discussions at the Great Wall of the People in Beijing yesterday.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said that his government is interested only in people and the policies and not individuals when extending its assistance to Sri Lanka.

The Chinese President has further stated that his government values the foreign policy adopted by the Sri Lankan government led by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
