An Indian national employed at a construction site in Nuwara-Eliya and diagnosed with Malaria has been repatriated to India.

The Central Province Health Services Director Shanthi Samarasinghe speaking to Hiru news said details of the individual were first reported on the 3rd of this month.

Accordingly the individual was under medical examination for a period of three days and repatriated to India.

Director Samarasinghe said the 26 year old individual was employed as a carpenter.

She added the 40 more Indians and 28 Sri Lankans working at the construction site have been directed for medical examinations.

Their blood samples have been sent to the Malaria Prevention Unit.

The Central Province Health Ministry has also urged the government to repatriate the remaining 40 Indian nationals at the construction site to India.
