China says it anticipates speedy solutions to the still unresolved issues with regard to the Colombo Port City Project.
Chinese Foreign Affairs ministry spokesman Lu Kang stated this during the media briefing held in Beijing yesterday.
He further said the two parties are exchanging views with regard to the matter, that construction of the project will restart in the near future.
The spokesman also said that the ties between China and Sri Lanka are always maintained on equal and mutual understanding therefore its a win win scenario for both countries.
He said that China expects Sri Lanka would be active to receive Chinese assistance in its efforts to achieve economic and social development goals.
Lu Kang said that premier Wickremesinghe agreed towards such objectives during his tour of China.
During the media conference , Kang also drew attention to the invitation extended by Prime Minister Wickremesinghe to Chinese companies to invest in Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile deputy minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ajith P Perera expressed his views about the Colombo Port City Project during a media conference held at the ministry premises this morning.
He stated that a Chinese and Sri Lankan joint company will restart the construction of the project.
