US Secretary of State John Kerry, on behalf of US President Obama and the American people wished Sri Lanka well as the nation celebrates the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
The Secretary added that the past year's accomplishments have been historic, demonstrating the deep commitment of the Sri Lankan people for reconciliation, tolerance and peace.
He offered his best wishes for a happy New Year and continued success as the country moves ahead with the new constitution, and attempts to strengthen democracy and prosperity.
