Infant dies due to doctor’s neglect

A newborn infant has died in Weeraketiya, Medagoda area after a doctor allegedly neglected it.

The baby was delivered on 30th last in Tangalle hospital, but was transferred to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital due to health complications.

However, when a fluid started oozing out of the baby’s mouth the mother has informed the doctors there who had allegedly turned a deaf ear. Later the baby had died on 14th this month.

Post mortem inquiry has revealed that the infant died due to doctor’s neglect.
