President Maithripala Sirisena will leave for Japan to participate in the G-7 summit as a guest, which brings together the seven most powerful nations of the world.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has extended the invitation to the Sri Lankan President.

The world’s seven most industrialized economies including the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan as well as the European Union, comprising 28 countries, will participate in the upcoming G-7 summit.

Special invitations have been sent to seven countries including Sri Lanka have to participate in the 42nd G-7 Summit.
