Former President Parliamentarian (MP) Mahinda Rajapaksa says the country is currently facing an economic backlash due to the present government discontinuing projects initiated by the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) led government.

Speaking at an event in Kurunegala the Former President said he informed the new government to continue projects and called for investigations if any wrongdoing is uncovered.

He likened the present crisis to a vehicle that has not been in use for a period of one year and attempting to restart it causes concerns.
