New Year auspicious times schedule was not altered; Minister S B Navinna

Minister of Internal affairs and cultural development S B Navinna states that the government did not intervene when preparing the New Year auspicious time’s schedule.

The Minister pointed out that the New Year auspicious times schedule was prepared by a special committee.

However Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that there was debate among circles regarding the manner in which auspicious times were set for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Minister S B Navinna addressing a media briefing yesterday at the information department vehemently rejected the accusations levelled by the former President.
