Bullock cart owners fight back

Bullock cart owners around the country flocked into Kaduwela to oppose the move by the government to ban bullock cart races.

Campaigning against this bullock cart owners also established an All Island Bullock Cart Owners’ Association.  

They pointed out that by imposing a ban the government is stopping a game that had been there for generations.

The ban was introduced under the animal rights act.
