The suspect who was arrested in connection with four murders has been handed over to the terrorism investigation division for further interrogations after his LTTE connections were revealed.
The Police Media Spokesman’s office stated that the suspect was handed over to the terrorism investigation division just after the police special task force arrested him yesterday.
The 29-year-old suspect is a resident of Jampetta Street in Colombo.
It has been revealed that the suspect is connected to the double murders at Uragasmanhandiya and Balapitiya Court Complex premises.
It has also been revealed that the suspect served as part of the Charles Anthony, LTTE Unit which provided security to the leader of the LTTE Velupillai Prabhakaran.
The suspect was known as Elilon and was injured on four occasions while being engaged in operations against the security forces.
Following rehabilitated after the war he was moved to Colombo.
Later he has joined underworld activities and served as the chief gunman for an underworld gang leader called Kosgoda Suji.
During the time of arrest police discovered a Chinese made nine millimeter pistol and three mobile phones in the possession of the suspect.
