President orders immediate action be taken to prevent gold smuggling

President Maithripala Sirisena ordered authorities to take immediate action to prevent gold smuggling.

A special discussion was held yesterday at the Presidents secretariat to address the issue.

The tri forces and the Police state that gold purchased from auctions are mainly sent abroad in large scale.

Assistance from the Attorney Generals department, tri forces and the police will be obtained.
