Pilleyan Re-remanded Till May 4th

Former chief minister of the Eastern Provincial Council  Sivaneshathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan was further remanded till May 4th when he was produced before Batticaloa Magistrate M. Ganesharajah this morning.

Pillayan has been accused in connection with the assassination of Batticaloa district MP Joseph Pararajasingham at a Church in Batticaloa on December 25th of 2005.

Later, Pillayan was arrested by the CID on October 9th 2015. 

Meanwhile the bail application filed by Pillayan is scheduled to be heard before the Batticaloa Magistrate Court on May 28th.
