5 Spill Gates Of Udawalawe Reservoir Opened

Five spill gates of the Udawalawe reservoir have been opened to almost two feet.

The Udawalawe Irrigation Engineering Office attributed the move to the incessant rains experienced in the area.

The Office added as a result approximately 16,600 cubic feet of water is being released into the Walawe River.

In view of this officials of the Irrigation Department have requested residents of low lying areas to remain vigilant.
