Police nab suspects of Rs. 130 million garment robbery

Five persons have been arrested by the police in connection with a robbery of ready-made garments from a garment factory in Hidogama in Anuradhapura.

The suspects have stolen garments worth Rs. 130,734,446.

The main suspect of the incident was taken into custody at Andiambalama area in Katunayake last night.

The rest of the four suspects were arrested, based on the statement given by the arrested suspect.

The group of thieves broke into the garment factory on the 2nd of this month and have stolen the stock of ready-made garments.

Police also seized 15,774 ladies clothes following the robbery.
