HIV Threat At The Wellawatte Brothel House

The Mount Lavinia Magistrate has ordered to re-remand until the 6th the prostitutes who were arrested by the police after medical reports indicate that two of them are infected with HIV.

The manager of the brothel house has been bailed out on a fine of Rs.50000 and Rs. five lakhs on two accounts.

The brothel house which was operating under the guise of massage parlor on 42nd lane in Wellawatte was raided recently and two Thailand women were arrested along with 7 local women and the manager.

It is reported that the local women were bailed out while the two Thai women were ordered to be subjected to medical examination where they have been identified as being infected with HIV.
