Swedish Foreign Minister holds bilateral talks with Sri Lankan counterpart

Visiting Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom says that she is very pleased to see Sri Lanka’s proactive involvement in the international arena.

The Swedish Foreign Minister, who is currently in the island on a two day official visit, expressed her views to the media after having bilateral discussions with her Sri Lankan counterpart today.

She noted that during the discussion they focused on the positive progress made by the country in many aspects, as well as on investment opportunities in the country.

Minister Wallstrom is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at Temple Trees tonight. 

She is also scheduled to meet the President and is supposed to join a tour of the North as well.

Sweden Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom who is also an internationally known women activist has been picked to deliver a lecture in Colombo on the theme of “Women Rights verses foreign policies”.
