Clinton, Trump look for big wins in five primaries

Wednesday, 27 April 2016 - 6:32

Voters went to the polls yesterday, in the 5 north-eastern US states, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Delaware.

Should Clinton sweep the primaries in all 5 of these states, it would put her on the cusp of Democratic victory against her rival Senator Bernie Sanders.

This will be a monumental step in her quest to become the nation's first female commander-in-chief.

Trump is also expected to extend his lead in the Republican race, even as rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich mounted a hasty team effort to block him.
