State Minister Dilan Perera says a division has been caused within the Joint Opposition after former Minister Basil Rajapaksa was appointed to organize their May Day rally in Kirullapone.
He opined this during a media conference held at the SLFP headquarters today.
When journalists enquired about the disciplinary actions the party would take against the SLFP MPs who participated in the Joint Opposition May Day rally, minister Perera noted that the question has been raised several times.
However, the decisions pertaining to SLFP are taken by the Central Working Committee.
He stressed that the party will not take decisions based on the demands of the UNP or any party supporting the terms of the UNP.
He also noted that certain factions among the Joint Opposition, who do not represent the SLFP, clearly intends to divide the party.
