Court orders to consult Attorney General with regard to Case against Dhammaloka Thera

The Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Fernando ordered the CID today to consult the Attorney General and ascertain whether the Case against Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera for raring an elephant calf without a license could be heard before a Magistrate Court.

The Wildlife officers seized the elephant calf on January 28th which was kept without a license in Allen Methiniyaramaya in Polhengoda in Kirullapone.

Later Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera was arrested in connection with the incident on March 9 and was later released on bail.  The Case will be called again on June 9th.
