Solutions to issued faced by the Tamil community should be granted though a federal system, Spokesperson to the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) M. A. Sumanthiran said.

He made this statement at their May Day rally held in Ramanadan College grounds in Jaffna.

Twenty proposals were passed during the event.

These included resettlement of Tamils in the North and East, release of political prisoners and handing over of lands occupied by the Sri Lanka Army.
