Report on ‘elephant issue’ due this week

The report on the human-elephant conflict will be delivered this week, government sources said.

The report prepared by Justice Nimal Dissanayake contains results of a detailed investigation carried out in two and half months. Help of the public, media, NGOs, government officials and unions were taken to prepare it.

Steps will be taken from the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Wildlife to curb the issues identified in the report.
