Journalists+have+the+responsibility+to+safeguard+media+freedom%3B+PM

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that journalists, themselves, have the responsibility to safeguard media freedom.

He expressed these views at a function that was held yesterday to unveil a plan to ensure a media industry accountable to the people and steps to be taken for its upliftment.

The report prepared by the Secretariat for Restructuring of Media includes 101 recommendations aimed at creating a new media culture.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe expressed these views at the occasion.
