Ex-Embilipitiya+ASP+Further+Remanded

Former Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Embilipitiya, D. W. C. Dharmarathna was further remanded till May 18.

The order was handed down when the case was taken up in the Additional Magistrate’s Court in Embilipitiya. The ASP was arrested over the death of a youth during a clash that took place between the police at a house party in Ebilipitiya on January 07th.

The Additional Magistrate stated that they have received the report of the second post-mortem examination on the death of the youth.

The C.I.D informed the courts that they will resort to obtaining advice from the Attorney General (AG) when conducting future investigations over the matter.

The case will be taken up in court once again on May 18.
