Importing of vehicles will be limited

Vehicle importers state that due to the depreciation of the rupee, importing vehicles into the country will be limited in future.

Vehicle importer's Association of Lanka stated yesterday at a media briefing held in Colombo, that the tax amendments made by the government has also affected the situation.

During the media briefing the chairperson of the Vehicle Importer's Association of Lanka Indika Sampath Merenchige noted that the recent VAT amendment would not affect vehicle prices.

Secretary of the Vehicle Importer's Association of Lanka, Keerthi Gunawardene added that if anyone wishes to buy a vehicle they should do so without further delay.
