A meeting of the parliamentary steering committee has been called today by speaker Karu Jayasuriya to discuss the cause of action to be taken against those who instigated the clash in Parliament.

The committee will convene at 9.00 am today.

The findings of the investigation conducted into the clash which erupted in parliament the day before yesterday, has recommended disciplinary action against Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma and MP Prasanna Ranaweera.

The report also recommended that the MPs who walked to the wall of the house, to protest, should be severely warned.

Upon the directive of the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker and the Deputy Chairman of Committee who conducted the investigation handed over their report to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya last afternoon.
