2 Suspects Remanded For Illegal Timber Transport

Two suspects, who were arrested yesterday for the illegal transport of satinwood logs under the guise of paddy, have been remanded until the 12th of this month.

The two were ordered to be remanded, after they were produced before the Mannar Magistrate’s court.

The suspects were arrested while they were transporting satinwood logs, felled from Madu forest reserve, to Jaffna.

Police also seized 46 satinwood logs at the time of the arrest.
