Cabinet Minister of Highways & Higher Education, Lakshman Kiriella says that the ragging culture should be abolished from the Sri Lankan University system.

Participating at a function held in Nawalapitiya yesterday the minister noted that students should not be permitted to control universities.

Four female and three male students of the Kelaniya University were arrested and remanded following a complaint filed by a fresher to the Kiribathgoda Police, alleging that she was severely ragged for wearing jeans.
