Bus fare hike around the corner

Bus associations have requested the government to increase fares by six to eight per cent.

Accordingly the minimum fare of Rs. 8 will be increased to Rs. 10, president of Sri Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association Gemunu Wijeratne said.

He said the hike is due to the recent VAT changes that affected the bus industry.
