Nearly 55 million voter will cast their ballots to select a new president in Philippines, as the countries presidential elections commenced this morning.

Mayor of Davao Rodrigo Duterte will contest against four others for the presidential seat.

Meanwhile, more than 100,000 police officers will be on duty. Fifteen people were killed during the election campaign.

A vice-president, senators and about 18,000 local officials including mayors will also be elected, reports said.
