President Maithripala Sirisena stated that petty political agendas come into force under any government, whenever good projects are implemented.

The President stated this while addressing the opening ceremony of the special centre for organic farming at the Makandura Agricultural Research Centre in Pannala yesterday.

The program was initiated under the national program to produce toxic free foods.

Meanwhile, the government’s initiative to offer cash in place of fertilizer subsidy to the farmers, was also launched during this ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Minister of Agriculture Duminda Dissanayake said that funds will be deposited to the respective accounts of 590,000 farmers by tomorrow.
