Basil Rajapaksa arrested

The former minister of Economic development, Basil Rajapaksa was arrested by the FCID this morning.

The Former minister was arrested when he arrived at the FCID to record a statement.

The statement to be made was with regard to his failure to declare his assets on purchasing a one-and-half acres land in Browns Hill, Matara.

Action has been filed against the former minister of Economic Development at the Matara Magistrate Court.

However the former minister is scheduled to be produced before Matara Magistrate Court today.
