Elephant Calf Dies in Snare near Tank

An elephant calf caught on a snare set by Hunters near Swarnamali Tank, Hambantota has died.

Hambantota Wild Life office estimates that the demised elephant calf is around five months old.

The wild life officers have also discovered several wire traps used for poaching at the scene.
