Rain continues to pose landslide threats around the island

Matale district is under the threat of landslides due to the prevailing rain.

The National Building Research Organisation has already issued landslide warnings to eight districts.

These districts include Badulla, Monaragala, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ratnapura, Kegalle and Kurunegala.

Meanwhile, four sluice gates in Upper Kotmale Reservoir were opened.

Over 60 houses were damaged in Nalloruwa area in Panadura as a result of high winds.
