Update: A body of a missing person in Dehiowita area recovered

A body of a missing person following a landslide in Dehiowita was recovered today.

Initially three persons were reported missing yesterday.

The Disaster Management center stated that rescue operations were hindered due to adverse weather.


Three people have gone missing after a landslide in Dehiowita area, Kegalle.

The Disaster Management Center stated that three line rooms were thus destroyed due to a landslide.

Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Center Pradeep Kodippili said rescue workers are searching for the missing people.

Transportation in most areas around the country was disrupted due to flooding.
