Youth commits suicide in fear of arrest

A youth committed suicide after receiving a phone call from the Chilaw police.

Relatives of the deceased states that received a call from a police officer at the Matale police station on the 14th.

The officer had requested that the youth report to the police station that evening.

An acquaintance of the 20-year-old victim speaking to our news team stated that the parents of the victim’s girlfriend had lodged a complaint against him.
