Deduru Oya Wreaks Havoc: Caution to Residents in Low Lying Areas

Incessant showers have increased the water level of Deduru Oya causing floods to low lying areas on either side.

Accordingly, 7 sluice gates of Deduru Oya Reservoir are open up to 7 feet.

Disaster Management Centre cautions locals in Bingiriya, Mahawa, Kobeigane, Nikaweratiya, Rasnayakepura, Pallama, Arachchikattuwa, Chilaw and Wariyapola to be vigilant of possible emergency situation.
