Meanwhile the National Building Research Institute states that the landslide warning issued for the districts of Matale, Badulla, Moneragala, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kalutara and Kurunegala are still in effect.
At the same time, low line areas along the banks of Kelani River have been affected as the river has started to overflow.
