The disaster management Centre stated that 226 378 people from 53170 families have become victims of aftermaths of extreme downfall.

Death toll of disasters around the country has escalated up to 11 while search operations are on going to recover 6 missing people.

Meanwhile, 19 individuals have been injured and 1711 residents have been severely harmed turning 137 606 individuals displaced.

However, the Meteorological department says that the tropical low pressure system will slowly move towards southern India.

Yet, its impact will hit the sea creating rough sea around the island.

The Met. Department predicts that the winds can strengthen up to 70-80 Kmph at times while requesting fisheries community and Naval forces to be cautious.

Meanwhile, rough sea and stormy weather may shove tidal waves towards the lands in the coastal stripe from Hikkaduwa to Ambalangoda.

Locals and drivers are requested to be vigilant in this regard.
