PM congratulates the first ever Sri Lankan to climb Mount Everest

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has extended a congratulatory message to Jayanthi Kuru-Uthumpala who created a milestone by becoming the first Sri Lankan to ascend the summit of Mount Everest.

The Premier further noted that the daunting task of ascending Mount Everest has been achieved with both commitment and courage.

In addition, the communiqué released by the Prime Minister’s office further said that the feat clearly portrays a great amount of endurance and the strength to face difficulties.

The communiqué further noted that the Premier has extended his best wishes on behalf of all Sri Lankans, to Jayanthi Kuru-Uthumpala and Johann Pieris who accompanied her to face this inimitable challenge.
