A special debate to commence in Parliament on natural disasters

A special parliamentary sitting will be held on  the 25th of May to discuss matters regarding those affected by natural disasters.

Leader of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna, Dinesh Gunawardena proposed to the Parliament to hold a special sitting in order to discuss the current adverse weather conditions that had affected the people drastically.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe noted that accordingly matters would be discussed following the Party Leaders’ Meeting.

The parliament met on Friday and was adjourned till the 7th of June.

It was decided that a special session commencing, from 1.00 pm on the 25th of May will be held to discuss the prevailing disaster situation in the country.
