Disaster affected people would suffer from PTSD

Doctors warn that disaster affected people will have long term health issues.

Psychologist at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital Dr. Rumi Ruban said that the people are already showing signs of such health hazards.

He said that they would suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

He believes that the affected people would suffer from insomnia, fly into rage, isolate themselves and get scared at times.

Talking and listening to affected children and taking them back to school environment will help them get over this situation, he said.
