Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has ordered a comprehensive report of the central band national and international bond issues, to be submitted to the monetary committee of the parliament once every three months.
He pointed out that even though financial management of the state is under the parliament in accordance to the constitution, most financial matters have been uninformed to the parliament in the past.
Not only financial decisions, but obtaining loans and signing of financial agreements have also been taking place without the knowledge of the parliament.
A senior spokesperson noted that the aim of this is to create a tradition with regard to informing the parliament on financial matters and keeping the parliament informed on financial decisions taking.
The report submitted by the Central Bank should include information on the manner in which foreign resources were utilized.
