Teacher in hot waters after punishing a fourth grader harshly

A fourth grade teacher attached to a popular school in Galle has made 44 students in her class to punish a female student by knocking on her head.

The teacher, a trainee from the teachers’ college, has thus punished the girl for a minor offence.

South Provincial Education Authorities are investigating into the matter. The Department of Probation and Child Care has also undertaken a separate investigation.
