President Maithripala Sirisena left for Japan a short while ago to participate in the G7 Summit to be held on May 26 and 27.

President Sirisena, the first Sri Lankan leader to the summit was officially invited by the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzƍ Abe as an Outreach Partner.

Apart from President Sirisena, Prime Ministers of Bangladesh, Laos, Papua New Guinea and Vietnam and Presidents of Chad and Indonesia are expected to participate in the Outreach Meeting during the G-7 summit.
