The 3rd grade students of the Gomugomuwa Central College in Kuliyapitiya, along with their parents took to the streets appealing for a teacher to be appointed to their school. The protest has taken place opposite the Kuliyapitiya Zonal Educational Office.

The protestors stated that there were no teachers for grade 2 and 3 for several months.

Also stated that there is no permanent School Principal.

Heated argument took place between the protestors and Primary Education Director C.P.P. Hemakumara of the Zonal Education Department.
