President Maitripala Sirisena who is in Japan to participate in the G - 7 summit, met Indonesian President Joko Vidodo last afternoon.
Bilateral discussions were held between the leaders, with regard to further strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
Issuing a communiqué, the Presidential Media Division said that accordingly more attention was paid to how the number of flights between Indonesia and Sri Lanka might be increased.
Discussions on the economy and trade affairs were also had during the meeting
President Maitripala Sirisena said that it was necessary to obtain a good price in the foreign market for rubber which was one of sri lankas main exports.
Both leaders agreed to work with towards this purpose.
In addition, in view of Indonesia being scheduled to receive the chair of the Indian Ocean Association, the Indonesian President had requested for support.
President Maitripala Sirisena responded stating that every necessary support would be provided.
